Our body’s designed for movement. The skeleton is moved by the muscles, controlled by the nervous system. The nutrients and chemicals are carried to these areas by the vascular system and this is all embodied in and surrounded by the fascia. All of these systems work together to allow the body to function and carry out our daily activities. Chiropractic aims at maintaining these functions to enable the body to continue to work efficiently and effectively. Traditionally known for joint manipulation or adjustments chiropractic encompasses so much more to include all the soft tissues of the body.

Proven results that speak for themselves.

Myofascial release is a relatively new science and treatment .The fascia acts as a net throughout the body enveloping muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons and cells giving support but also interconnecting different parts of the body. Once thought just to act as a filler between other tissue, fascia is now known to have its own blood supply, nerve innervation with more proprioceptors (which detect movement) and nociceptors (which detect pain) then most other tissues in the body. Schleip (2020) estimated the fascial network to contains 250 million nerve endings, making it the primary sensory tissue of the body.
The fascia is normally well hydrated and pliable but injury, trauma, repetitive strain or local inflammation can cause it to become dehydrated and stuck and so impede mobility. This results in pain, restrictions and trigger points within the fascia.
Treatment is very relaxing and passive but can have major effects for some people.
“ I had a chronic condition in the muscle of my right thigh which caused me severe pain considerably limiting my mobility and badly affecting my sleep pattern as I was no longer able to side sleep.
I sought medical intervention from and was given a steroid injection into my hip. This gave me some limited relief but the pain returned. I then went to a physiotherapist and had six months treatment which primarily concerned me receiving deep tissue massage again any immediate relief was time limited. A friend recommended that I seek assistance from Sue initially she treated me with chiropractic techniques which included acupuncture and there was a definite improvement. However the breakthrough in my treatment came when she treated me with the Myofascia release technique after four treatments I was completely pain-free this was truly remarkable. Sue has truly given me back my quality of life I cannot recommend her highly enough."
